Nick Smith moved to American Samoa in 2016 from Boise, Idaho, where his family has lived for five generations. He spent three years in the commercial litigation, business, and real estate groups of Idaho’s largest law firm before founding his own firm focusing on business and real estate transactions and disputes.
Nick has broad experience representing individuals and businesses on a variety of matters, including commercial litigation, creditors rights, real estate disputes, general corporate governance, corporation formation, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate transactions. He also has experience representing lenders in bankruptcy, loan workouts, foreclosures, collections, and secured transactions. Some of his favorite clients have included breweries, restaurants, artists, and a music festival.
A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, Nick went on to clerk for two federal judges in the Midwest before entering private practice. Prior to law school, he studied abroad in Germany, taught school in Tonga, and served a two-year mission in south-central Mexico. Nick loves to cook, garden, and explore with his family.
